LEAP Bridge Enterprise V8i (SELECTseries 7) v14.00.00.19 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes to itself and its component programs:

LEAP Bridge v14.00.00.19

Enhancements:

  • A new option to specify minimum beam seat depth for all bearings on a support is now available

  • For skewed abutments and piers, user can now select an option which will draw edges parallel to deck in the 3D model and 2D views.

  • A new report showing top of cap elevations (for supports on either side of span) has been added.

  • A new option to export 3D model as solids instead of meshes on the export to DGN option has been implemented.

  • In order to improve the workflow when starting with ABC Wizard, the File>Save option in the component programs is now disabled. By simply closing the component program, data is saved back to LEAP Bridge model. In the preferences user can chose an option to have the program display a message with options to send/not send back to the main bridge model.

Fixes:

  • Input restrictions on minimum width and height of back-wall on abutments have been removed.

  • Barrier concrete quantities in the report were incorrect for some cases. Fixed now.

  • By default, the export of 3D model to DGN now uses Survey Foot and Survey Inches.

  • On export to DGN, H-piles now show correct EC data properties.

  • Some data flow corrections to support multiple bridges in a single file have been implemented.

  • A program crash due to missing pile patterns in library was fixed.

LEAP CONSPAN v14.00.00.19

Enhancements:

  • 2013 Interim Revisions to the LRFD Bridge Design Specifications are now implemented. The primary change is phi factors based on strain limits rather than c/dt ratios and support for high strength steel.

  • A new option has been added to neglect the haunch contribution to section properties computation is now available. Program will only consider the self-weight only in this case.

  • Connection to AASHTOWare Bridge Design/Rating (formerly Opis/Virtis) is now updated to support v6.5.

Fixes:

  • Fixed program crash when working with layout of non-voided rectangular slabs

  • For flared girder geometry cases, if beams were detected to be laid out non-continuously, program prevented analysis from being run. Now only the warning is shown, but user can still run analysis.

  • Some users reported program crashes when generating Enhanced Report for Positive Envelope Stresses. Fixed now.

  • Positive Envelope Stress graph corrected to show the correct Limiting Stress for Service I limit state.

  • For Canada code, the dead load factors were printed as zero’s in the rating reports. Did not affect final results. Now fixed. Also some minor differences between summary report and detailed rating report were corrected.

LEAP CONBOX v14.00.00.19

Enhancements:

  • Limit State Design for India

  • LRFD Interims 2013

  • An option to include or exclude the secondary moment in cracking moment calculations

  • Improved analysis reports of truck/lane, live load, service/strength limit states, and substructure reactions with more clarity

  • Improved detailed bending design report for strain compatibility option

  • Added warning message when the anchor set length overlaps

Fixes:

  • Self weight of columns incorrectly added to bottom-of-column reactions in various dead loads (including barrier, sidewalk, railing)

  • The option “Use Single Lane DF” did not work for Tee bridge

  • Incorrect moment diagram of Strength I

  • Discrepancy in reactions to the self weight between different versions

  • Discrepancy in column height between the printout report and the definition in the model

  • Incorrect calculation of the cracking moment for California option

  • Incorrect calculation of the factored moment capacity per Canadian code

  • Incorrect report of PT internal forces at the Initial stage

  • Self weight of columns incorrectly subtracted from substructure reactions for load combinations

  • Column length in the design report did not match the input in the model

  • Double trucks and tandems were not considered in substructure reactions

  • Incorrect calculation of negative moment capacity in Tee bridge

Note:

In CONBOX v12.01.00.57 the modeling assumption for tendons crossing variable depth cross-sections was modified. The change was made to produce zero Vp for straight horizontal tendons. This change typically resulted in slightly higher required PJack force. However, it is realized that a straight horizontal tendon crossing variable depth cross-sections would indeed produce Vp, since the tendon axis would not be parallel to the sloping CG axis. V14.00.00.xx rolled back the change introduced in V12.01.00.57

LEAP RC-PIER v14.00.00.19

Enhancements for US, Canada, and India:

  • Incorrect update of structure model when Extreme Event Seismic Group was added
  • Loads at bearings were incorrectly applied above the ledge in Inverted Tee pier
  • Input values of bearings were incorrectly retained in the strut and tie model
  • Rounding of input values of steel reinforcement did not allow the design procedure to proceed in pier column design
  • Incorrect height of wall pier was used in auto-generation of loads
  • Incorrect load effect of transverse moment Mzz in isolated footings

Additional issues fixed for US:

  • SERVICE III group was missing when the option “WS as per FDOT SDG 2.4” is checked
  • Incorrect distributed out-of-plane forces in columns for California design option
