LEAP Bridge Steel Connect Edition Update 1 Release v16.00.00.21
Release Notes
LEAP Bridge Steel CONNECT Edition Update 1 v16.00.00.21 contains two significant enhancements: Field splice design and analysis, and export of dead and live load reactions to the substructure design module. Additionally there are several bug fixes.
The following enhancements and maintenance items are included in v16.00.00.21
Field splice design and analysis
Export dead and live load reactions to substructure module
Supports can optionally be offset from the alignment individually (Straddle Supports)
Improved Cross-Frame member force generation and reporting
Several bug fixes
Field Splice Design and Analysis
The new LEAP Bridge Steel Field splice command is included on the Superstructure menu. This command provides tools to locate field splices along each member, specify default field splice settings and design parameters, check existing field splices for compliance with the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification or perform design optimization. Field splices are visualized in 3D through the design and analysis process and can be saved as 3D intelligent MicroStation models.
Export Dead and Live Load Reactions to Substructure Module
The Substructure Design and Analysis command has been enhanced to export dead load and live load reactions to the substructure module. These reactions can then be used to design/analyze the abutments, piers and footings.
Fixes in this release
Currency defect in quantity reports
Issues when creating Roadway DGN file
Issue where only W shapes appear in the Cross Frame Definition window
Issue in Cross Frame definition where WT shape is inadvertently changed back to a W shape
Issue where the Deflection report was not showing deflections due to SIP forms
Issue where the Dead Load report did not include user defined load cases
Inadvertent syntax error when running line girder analysis
Issue with pile batter slope discrepancy with the Substructure module
Inadvertent line girder analysis error
Condition where multiple cross frame locations were not being recognized
Units issue with flange lateral bending
Cross frame member force calculation was revised. In the original implementation, the cross frame equivalent beams were sometimes loaded with the vehicle axle loads resulting in conservative estimates for the resulting beam end forces. This issue has now been fixed. Additionally, changes were made to the Cross Frame Equivalent Beam Member Forces report for Live Load. It now reports Maximum Moment and Concurrent Shear, and Maximum Shear and Concurrent Moment. The Detailed Cross Frame Forces report for Live Load has also been changed to only show the Maximum Tension and Maximum Compression.
